Love Stories

Saturday, September 20 - 7pm - Acalanes High School, Lafayette - Free Tickets
Sunday, September 21 - 4pm - Trinity Lutheran Church, Pleasanton - Ticketed

The San Francisco Brass Band presents Love Stories, a concert that celebrates the many faces of love—romantic, dramatic, and even whimsical. Under the direction of Dr. Jeffrey DeSeriere, SFBB invites you on a musical journey spanning tender devotion, heartfelt persistence, and timeless tales.

The program features Fletcher’s Labour and Love, the first original composition for brass band, alongside Peter Graham’s A Portrait of Paris showcasing soloists Mike Marmarou and Jacob Guilbeau. Elgar’s noble Nimrod offers profound warmth, while Holst’s The Unfortunate Traveler and Prokofiev’s Montagues and Capulets portray love in all its turmoil and tragedy. Listeners will also be swept away by John Williams’ cinematic Suite from Far and Away, energized by Robertson’s Persistence Fanfare and March, and charmed by Hazell’s lighthearted Mr. Jums.

With music that is stirring, dramatic, and uplifting, Love Stories promises an inspiring concert experience that will speak to every listener’s heart.
